Far West Region Trekking

Beautiful Far West is an Untouched and Unexplored Region and hosts some of the most beautiful attractions from the largest herd of Swamp Deer in Asia at Suklaphanta National Park to the majestic beauty of the Alpine Meadows, Forest and Lakes of Khaptad to the picturesque Off The Beaten trails of Mt. Api, Rama and Roshan. This Region covers an area of 19,539 sq km and includes Flatland (Terai), Middle Hills and High Mountains with the highest elevation at 7,132 meters. It shares the International Border with Tibet in North and Indian in West and South. This region is equally rich in Colorful and Vivid Culture. The Raute Tribe in the Far West still lives on hunting and gathering and move from place to place. Unmodified Tharu Culture in Terai, Hindu Culture in Hilly Regions and Tibetan Culture in Northern Mountain part makes this region culturally rich. This Region also beholds Mystical Folklore and Ancient Stories that build an even more captivating allure to the Far West of Nepal.The local Saukas people of Changrue village collects Yarshagumba (Cordyceps) during harvesting season between May and June in the Northern Part specially around Api Base Camp.
