Overview

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of few treks that combine so many different landscapes and bring us so close to the base of 7,000 and 8,000 meter peaks in a such a short period of time. Trail goes alongside terraced rice paddies, dotted villages, lush rhododendron forests and high altitude landscapes with the Annapurna Range in view most of the times. The walk-in to the Sanctuary provides an experience of the great variety of landscape types which serve to make Nepal such a special trekking destination. We will pass through a diverse geographical and cultural variation with an amazing range of Flora and Fauna in between.

8 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular and shortest trekking routes in Nepal. This Shortest Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary is specially designed as per the limited available time of the trekkers and to avoid the entire motor road. Our trek starts with 1.5 hours drive to Nayapul from Pokhara and 1.5 hours off road drive to Maiku, near Jhinu Danda. During the trek, we encounter sub-tropical heat, pretty villages and neatly terraced rice fields. Gaining height gradually, we enjoy several days of pleasant walking with a mix of abundant forest and scattered areas of farmed land. Finally, beyond the last of the bamboo and rhododendron woodland, the valley narrows at the entrance to the world of ice and snow that is the Annapurna Sanctuary. Throughout the walk-in there are outstanding panoramas of the high peaks to the north, and the contrast of the rice-fields and villages with the snow peaks above, makes for very picturesque trekking indeed. Finally, our trip ends at Maiku, then you will drive to back to Pokhara for 3 hours.

This trek can be done in Spring and Autumn only. During Monsoon, the road beyond Nayapul will be slippery and muddy. In extreme winter, there will be heavy snow and mainly chances for Avalance between Himalaya Hotel and Deurali.

We don't suggest this Short ABC trek if you have more time and want to do in a more relax way. This trek is more rush needs more physical fitness. So ,if you have more time, we suggest you to go for either Annapurna Base Camp Trek  or Annapurna Base Camp Trek 12 Days.
