Overview

Saribung Peak (6,328 m) lies in the Damodar Himal in the isolated Upper Mustang Region close to the border of Tibet.  Recently opened in 2006 is the unexplored but popular for the climbers as it encompasses the remote region of Upper Mustang and Nar Phu Valley.  The panoramic mountain views from the top of the peak, high passes, roughed trails, off the beaten trail and the primitive Tibetan culture of the Mustang and Nar Phu regions enrich climbers the unique adventure and experience of lifetime.

Our adventure begins with scenic flight to Jomsom from Pokhara. Then we drive to Kagbeni and follow the trail to Upper Mustang Trek to Lhomanthang. From Lhomanthang, we head toward the Saribung Base Camp (4,950 m) through the isolated region of Yara and Luri Cave Gompa. We stay at Camp I (5,730 m) before we climb to the peak and descend to Nar Phu Valley and end our adventure at Dharapani. Then we drive back to Kathmandu.  From the top of Saribung Peak, we get the magnificent view of Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna II, Chhib Himal, Kharsang Peak, Gyajikang, Himlung, Bhrikuti peak along with other peaks in Annapurna range and few Tibetan peaks.

The best season for Saribung Peak Climbing is Spring and Autumn. Till Lho Manthang, we stay at Tea houses and tented camp beyond till Phu village in Nar Phu Region. Due to the high passes and rough trails, the trekking is challenging though the peaking climbing is easy and non technical.
