Annapurna Region which hit the list of 10 Best Trekking Regions several times in the world, is the most diverse; culturally and geographically in the Central Region of Nepal with the total area of 7,629 sq. km and the population of around 100,000. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m), Annapurna III (7,555 m), Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Mt. Annapurna is the Hindu Goddess of Food and Nourishment. Shaligram, Fossilized Ammonites can be found around Muktinath area and upper reaches of Kali Gandaki River. Shaligram is believed to be a form of Lord Vishnu after the Brinda’s Curse as per the Hindu Mythology.
This region is rich in vegetation and ranges from Sub Tropical Climate to Alpine Climate. Also hosts various Natural Hot Springs, Lakes, Pine and Rhododendron forest, and is the home for Elusive Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Himalayan Monal (National Bird of Nepal) and many more.
