Annapurna Region Trekking

Annapurna Region which hit the list of 10 Best Trekking Regions several times in the world,  is the most diverse; culturally and geographically in the Central Region of Nepal with the total area of 7,629 sq. km and the population of around 100,000. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m), Annapurna III (7,555 m), Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Mt. Fishtail (6,997 m), Gangapurna (7,455 m), Hiuchuli (6,441 m) are the massif of the range and many others peaks like Annapurna Central, Annapurna East, Tilicho Peak, Nilgiri Peak, Annapurna Fang, Gandharba Chuli, Khangsar Khang, Tarke Kang, Lachena Peak etc.

Minimum elevation of this region ranges from 760 m and to the highest Thorong-La at 5,416 m and has been voted as the best long trekking route in the world.

Annapurna is the Hindu Goddess of Food  and Nourishment. Shaligram, Fossilized Ammonites can be found around Muktinath area and upper reaches of Kali Gandaki River. Shaligram is believed to be a form of Lord Vishnu after the Brinda’s Curse as per the Hindu Mythology.

This region is rich in vegetation and ranges from Sub Tropical Climate to Alpine Climate. Also hosts various Natural Hot Springs, Lakes, Pine and Rhododendron forest, and  is the home for Elusive Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Himalayan Monal (National Bird of Nepal) and many more.
