Bethanchowk Hill at 3,000 m is the highest hill of Mahabharata Range in Kavre, a neighbor district of Bhaktapur. Also called as King of Hills, provides the best views of Himalayan Peaks, surrounding forested hills and valleys. Mountains stretch from Dhaulagiri on west and Makalu on east including Mt. Everest with close view of Manaslu Himal, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Range, Dorje Lakpa are clearly visible from the top and Low Land area (Terai ) is commonly sighted down to the south east. Bethanchowk Hill:
We drive to
Panauti town which is 34 kms away from Kathmandu and takes around 1 & ½
hours. From Panauti, we drive to Bethanchowk (Dhunkharka) in off road which
takes another 1 hour. From Bethanchowk, Bethanchowk hill is around 7 kms uphill
and normally takes 5 Hours.
