Jamacho Gumba Hiking is one of the best options for the hikers very close to Kathmandu. It
lies on Nagarjun Shivapuri National Park and the Gomba is situated at the top
of Nagarjun Hill at the elevation of around 2,100 m.
Also known as
Nagarjun Hike, it goes along the national park area through beautifully paved
and stone steps manage my Nepal Army. The trail is completely under the
supervision of Nepal Army being inside the National Park.
This park is very famous for different kinds of flora and fauna. From the top of Nagarjun Hill where there is Jamacho Monastery, we can see magnificent view of entire Kathmandu valley and jaw dropping mountain ranges from east to west. Annapurna Range, Manaslu Range, Ganesh Himal Range, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa are t he major mountain ranges can be seen from the top. The Jamacho monastery, religious and historically caves, national park, flora and fauna are the major highlights of the hike.
Schedule:
After
early breakfast and pack lunch, we drive for around 8 kms/30 minutes to main
entrance of the National Park. After permit, we start our hike to Nagarjun Peak
which takes around 2.5 hours to get to the top where Jamacho Monastery is.
After spending some time and having pack lunch, we hike down to the entrance and
drive back to hotel.
