Kathmandu Cultural Heritage Tour has been designed for those who want to indulge with its beauty, culture, walk around the narrow ancient streets, worship Living Goddess, Kumari and enjoy mouth watering Nepalese foods. Welcome to Kathmandu, capital of the ancient Mountain Kingdom of Nepal, has the air of a medieval city with a maze of narrow streets, wooden temples and beautifully decorated palaces. 

Kathmandu, in an elevation of around 1,350 meters from Sea Level is a blend of Geography, Culture and History which hosts 7 UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites; Kathmandu Durbar Square(Hanuman Dhoka), Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur  Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Changunarayan Temple.  The valley is a mixture of people from around the country with the population of around 5 millions. It has a multiethnic population within a Hindu and Buddhist majority. It is also the home of the Newars. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu.  Tourism is one of the important parts of the economy as it hosts One and Only Kathmandu International Airport and gateway to the Himalayas.  

Kathmandu Tour 4 Days is all about the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu valley, its people and culture, monuments, narrow local streets, local foods and many more. Kathmandu valley has 3 different cities named, Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. You can enjoy the Durbar Squares, Holy Temples, Stupas, ancient villages and shopping of Nepalese arts and artifacts.

Detail Itinerary


Once you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative from Alpine Holidays welcomes you at the airport. Please look at the signage of Alpine Holidays with your name after you collect your luggage and exit the main building. Our representative will be just opposite. Then you will be escorted to your hotel. If you arrive till afternoon, we can organize city sightseeing around Kathmandu. In the evening, we will host you welcome dinner at traditional Nepalese restaurant to make you introduce with our food habit and culture.

Optional Tour –Mount Everest Flight In the morning there is the opportunity to take a flight to Everest. These flights offer a panoramic view of the Himalaya in just one hour. This flight gives travelers a life time opportunity of witnessing the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8848 m) and its neighbors, beautiful setting of Sherpa Settlements and many other nature creations. We have 1 hour Schedule Flight and 3 hours Everest Tour by Private Helicopter. Mountain flight in Nepal is to be “Once in a life time experience”. After breakfast at hotel, our guide will meet you at hotel lobby and take you for tour around Kathmandu city. This day, you will visit Pashupatinath Temple, is the holiest Hindu Temple at the bank of Bagmati River. Hindu people cremate death body at the bank. Later on, we will drive 15 minutes for one of the giant Stupa in Asia, Boudhanath Stupa which is the focal point for Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. You can have lunch at any of the rooftop restaurant. After lunch, we will drive to Swyombhunath Stupa, which is also called Monkey Temple over viewing Kathmandu valley and mountains. In the late afternoon, we will drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square where Kings used to get throne. Interesting monuments to see are Kal Bhairabh, Taleju Temple, Statue of Hanuman, Kastamandap Temple from which Kathmandu got its name and many other temples and statues. You can witness, one and only living goddess, Kumari who gives just a glimpse from the balcony. Also enjoy walking to the freak street, which used to be a Hippie Place in 60’s to 80’s. And in an open place, people sell souvenirs. After sightseeing, walk (20 minutes) or take a Rickshaw Ride to Thamel via Narrow Street of Ason. This way usually gets crowded because of its availability of different kinds of spices shop, vegetable vendors, local shops, temples and Stupas. Thamel is a tourist hub and famous for multi cuisine restaurants, bars, clubs and for shopping.

This day, we will visit some monuments and villages in Bhaktapur and Patan. After breakfast at hotel, we will take you to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur usually addressed as City of Devotees and a living Museum. This used to be a kingdom as Kathmandu and Patan was and the last rulers were the Mallas. You can witness big squares, Royal bath, temples, and monuments including 55 windows Durbar. Walk around Poetry Square and Dattaraya Square are amazing. Also, you can try famous local curd called ‘JuJu Dhau’. After Bhaktapur, we will drive to Patan Durbar Square. It is a beautiful city in terms of the splendor of its temples, squares and is now better preserved, less polluted and less crowded. Patan boasts of many famous sites and unique architecture. Krishna Mandir in this Square was built to honor an incarnation of Vishnu. One of the best examples of stone architecture in the world, scenes from Mahabharat, Asia's greatest mythological war, is carved on the temple's walls. There are many roof top restaurants where you can have lunch. Later on we drive to one of the traditional village of Patan called Bungmati. Bungmati Village, a typical Newari village in Patan which is far away from the modernization of Kathmandu city and a living example of ancient Kathmandu. It is the hometown of deity Macchindranath who is regarded as patron of valley. Later on, we drive back to hotel. You can do last minute shopping. In the evening, we will host a farewell dinner.
