dynasty which ruled the Mithila region in the ancient times. Janakpur city has
been mentioned in the Ramanaya as the birthplace of Sita, daughter of King
Janaka and the Lord Ram’s consort. Ram is considered as the incarnation of Lord
Vishnu and Sita as the incarnation of Goddess Laximi.
Dhanushadham, 18

is believed to be the place where Shiva’s broken Bow was found which was lifted
by the Rama, prince of Ayodhya as a proposal of King Janaka to marry her
daughter Sita.
