Nepal is a melting pot of 125 ethnic groups with many religion and culture living in a perfect harmony. From its lowest point in Jhapa at 59 m to the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest at 8848 m have a different settlement pattern, language, geography, culture and history.

Kathmandu valley which has thousands of years of history has the air of a medieval city with a maze of narrow streets, wooden temples and beautifully decorated palaces.

Where ever you travel, you are welcomed by the happy faces of Nepalese people whether it might be in Terai region or to mountain region despite of their sorrow and hard life.

When you travel to Low Land Terai area, you see Tharu Indigenous people who are very hard working people and are of Aryan complex, mostly follow Hinduism. Likewise in the middle hilly area, you see Brahmins, Chettris, Magar, Rai, Gurung and many more. The top of hilly areas are covered by Tamang Community. If you go to the mountain area, you see Sherpa people who are known as Summiteers or Mountain Man. In the eastern mountain part of Nepal, you see Kirat people.

Now in the hilly region and low land area, you can see mix people as they migrated from the middle and upper section of Nepal.

Mostly in Kathmandu, there is all type of people; around 5 million as mini Nepal are living in as a family which shows the brotherhood and sisterhood despite of their culture, religion, and education level. The native Newars of Kathmandu celebrates festivals almost every week which makes Kathmandu as a living heritage. You find temples everywhere.

The major places are Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan, Pokhara, Lumbini, Bandipur, Gorkha, Palpa, Dhulikhel.  Janakpur, Dharan, Ilam, Taplejung in east and Nepaljung, Surkhet, Bardia, Dhangadi, Suklaphata in western part of Nepal. There are so many places in hilly and mountain region of Nepal to travel and experience the culture and nature.

The major religions are Hinduism, Buddhism and others as Islam, Kirat Jain, Christian and others.
