Everest Region is the Home of Sherpa People whose stories are taller than Mountains and bigger than Glaciers. Trekking in Everest makes you encounter with long back history of Sherpa Culture, their tale of mountains, beautiful landscapes and inspiration for the entire life. One of the biggest home for Everest Summiters, Khumjung village with Mt. Khumbila in the background has a Monastery with Purported Yeti Scalp. Tengboche Monastery, a major Buddhist Center in Everest Region is one the famous Monasteries in Nepal with Residing Guru Rinpoche who blesses trekkers and mountaineers has a strong link with its Mother Monastery known as Rongbuk Monastery in Tibet.
Khumbu Region is the home for mesmerizing glaciers, Sherpa settlement with deep culture and the majestic mountains and often called as journey close to the Nirvana. The world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest (8,848.86 m) also called Sagarmatha and other epic mountains like Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Thamserku, and Mt. Amadablam and the rivers like Dudhkoshi, Lobuche River, added the beauty of the Khumbu Region. Khumbu, other name of Everest Region is also a habitat for rare and endangered species like snow leopard, red panda, musk deer, Himalayan black deer, Himalayan wolves and the well popular Yeti. The view from Kalapatthar (5,545 m) of Mt. Everest and its neighbors is something you need to witness in your life.
This Region offers something for every Adventure Seekers of any level from Mountaineering, Peak Climbing, Trekking, Mountain Flight and many more. From Lobuche towards Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar are bit challenging because of high altitude but equally rewarding. From Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp is 3 hours further and Kalapatthar is 1 and 1/2 hours.
Everest Base Camp Treks, High Passes Treks, Gokyo Lakes Trek, Amadablam Base Camp Treks, Everest View Trek and Classical routes of Jiri to Everest Base Camp and Phaplu to Everest Base Camp are the major trekking trails. From Jiri and Phaplu, the trails are quieter and every step is worthy.
The scenic and most adventurous flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla becomes the gateway to Everest Region which offers the best inspirational experience.
NOTE ON LUKLA FLIGHT:
Due to the congestion in Kathmandu International Airport, Nepal Government has issued notice of flight operation to Lukla Airport from Ramechhap Manthali Airport until further notice to avoid Airport Traffic in Kathmandu. Lukla Flights from Ramechhap (Both ways) will operate from March to May and September to November every year. In other months, Lukla flights will operate from Kathmandu Airport itself. Please write us for the latest updates. Ramechhap Manthali Airport is 136 kms from Kathmandu and can be reached in around 4 hours. Alternatively, we can arrange Helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla if you do not want to drive.
