The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the most accepted, renowned and significant classical trek in the Annapurna Region. This trek takes us to Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchhre Base Camp through passing various beautiful villages, people of different cultures, nature and a close view of snow capped mountains. The major highlights of this ABC Trek are diverse culture of Gurung, Magar Settlements, Dense Forest, Flora and Fauna, Sunrise and Sunset View from Poon Hill  and Base Camp over Annapurna Range including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Hot Spring in Jhinu and lots more. This region with lush green Pine and Rhododendron forest is the home for Elusive Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Himalayan Monal (National Bird of Nepal) and many more.

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp is the life time opportunity for the trekkers who have always been dreaming of going to Himalayas without too much of effort. This trek is suitable for everyone, means does not need too much of strength and trekking experience. This Classical Annapurna Base Camp trek is the leisure trek in which you can walk gently without rush and in a relaxed way in compared to Annapurna Base Camp trek shorter version. You can consider doing this trek solo or with friends, family with kids.

This Annapurna Base Camp Trekking also called Annapurna Sanctuary Trek starts from Nayapul (New Bridge) which is 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Pokhara and ends at Phedi. This trek can be done throughout the year but the most suitable time is from March to May and September to November. Every year, this region hosts Hundreds of Thousands trekker from around the world and is managed and maintained by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and Nepal Trust for Nature and Conservation (NTNC).

We can arrange Annapurna Base Camp trek either from Kathmandu or Pokhara as per your convenience, and is can be customized as per your duration of travel. We have several options to the Base Camp. From Kathmandu, Pokhara is 210 km and accessible by road in 6 hours and just a 25 minutes City Flight with so many daily flights of different airlines.

For accommodation, there are many choices of hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara as per your Budget and Comfort. And during trek, there are nice Tea Houses/ Local  Lodges run by the house owner with a blend of Nepalese Hospitality.

Detail Itinerary


After arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, our office representative welcomes you with Garland and takes you to hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have briefing on trek and equipment check by our Trek Manager and Trek Guide. Then, we will take you for dinner to make you introduced with Nepalese food habits and Culture.

After breakfast, we will take you for guided tour of Kathmandu city. We will begin with Pashupatinath Temple which is famous Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva at the bank of holy Bagmati River. After this, we continue to Boudhanath Stupa, which is giant Stupa in Asia and a focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Kathmandu. Then, we drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square where Nepalese Kings used to get Throne. Interesting places to see here are Taleju Temple, Statue of Kal Bhairabh and Hanuman, Temple of Jagannath (Erotic Temple) and Kastamandap Temple from which Kathmandu got its name. We visit Kumari Temple and pay homage to the living goddess, Kumari and also walk around the Freak streets which was famous during Hippie Era in 60's and 70's.

Activity Duration:

After breakfast, you may consider either to fly or drive to Pokhara. If you drive, you may consider to enjoy Water Rafting at Trishuli River with Picnic lunch for 3/4 hours. We drive on Prithivi Highway. When we approach Pokhara, we see the magnificent Annapurna Range. In the evening, we walk around Lakeside Bazaar.

Activity Duration:

After breakfast, we drive to Nayapul crossing beautiful villages of Hemja, Kande, Naudanda and Lumle. At Nayapul, after we manage loads among porters, we trek to Birethanti along the Modi River. We cross several tributaries, then pass through two settlements of Lamthali and Sudame. After Hile (1,470 m), we arrive at Tirkhedunga.

Activity Duration:

Today our trail descends initially and after crossing the Bhrundi River, we make steep climb on stone steps to reach Ulleri(2,073 m). From Ulleri, our trails climb steadily to lush Oak forests and crosses numerous small streams. Then we pass a Rest House, Dharmashal and continue until we arrive at Ghorepani. Ghorepani literally means Horse Watering place.

Activity Duration:

We wake up early morning and climb Poon Hill to view the magnificent Sunrise over Annapurna Range and Mt. Dhaulagiri. After spending around hour, we return back to Ghorepani. We will have breakfast and then continue to Tadapani.

Activity Duration:

This day, we make our way to Chomorong which is beautiful Gurung Village at the top of the hill. After breakfast, we begin our trek to Chomorong. We trek through dense forest of Rhododendron and see other Flora and Fauna including Himalayan Monal, National Bird of Nepal. Several Ups and Downs are common on the trail.

Activity Duration:

After breakfast, we descend down on step stone until the Suspension Bridge on Chomorong River. Then we ascend up to Lower and Upper Sinuwa. We continue to Bamboo, passing small streams and tropical forests for the delicious lunch. Passing though huge Bamboo forest, we will reach at to Dovan.

After breakfast, we start our trek by entering to the forest and arrive at Himalaya Hotel in 1 & 1/2 hours. We continue walking to the middle of the forest with frequent Ups and Downs to arrive at Hinko Cave (3,140 m). After the Cave, we continue to Deurali for lunch. After lunch, we walk along the River and may walk on Snow specially in winter to arrive at Macchapuchre Base Camp just below the Macchapuchre Mountain, Mt. Fishtail.

After breakfast, we continue to Annapurna Base Camp. The Trail is a gentle uphill on a valley kind. During the walk, we see Mt. Fishtail on back and Annapurna South and Hiuchuli on the front. Annapurna Base Camp is marked by Sign Board with many prayers flag. After lunch, we walk on the ridge above lodge from where we see Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Hiuchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Fishtail (6,997 m) and Annapurna Glacier. The view is rewarding during the Sunset.

We wake up early in the morning and walk to the ridge to witness the magnificent Sunrise over Annapurna Range. Then after breakfast, we descend down to Macchapuchre Base Camp and continue our trail back to Dovan.

This way we will follow the same trail till Chomorong and descend steep down to Jhinu Danda for 45 minutes. In the late afternoon, we walk down for 20 minutes to Jhinu Natural Hot Spring for Natural Hot Bath on the river bank of Modi Khola.

Activity Duration:

This day, we trek to the famous Ghandruk Village. It is the biggest Gurung Village in this region and been renowned center of all the Gurkhas, who mostly serve on British and Indian Army as Gurkha Regiment. In the evening, we walk around the Village and visit Gurung Mesuem. We will have the best view of Annapurna South and Hiuchuli from Ghandrunk.

You can wake up early in the morning for Sunrise. After breakfast, we trek downhill until we reach to Modi River and cross a bridge. Then we gently ascend to Landruk Village for lunch which is another Gurung Village. After lunch, we continue to Dhampus passing by Pothana Village.

Activity Duration:

This is our last day of the trek. We have easy morning and descend down through Dhampus village and reach at Phedi. Then at Phedi, we meet our vehicle and drive to Pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokhara, the whole day is free rest unless you have any plan. In the evening, you may walk around the Lakeside Bazaar.

After relaxing morning, we drive to Pokhara Airport in the afternoon and fly back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, we will host farewell dinner to mark the great success of your Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
