Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival (1,350 m/4,430 ft)

Day 02: Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,880m/9,450 ft) and trek to Phakding (2,650m/8,695 ft) - 4 Hours

Day 04: Trek to Namche (3,450m/11,320 ft)-6 hours

Day 05: Acclimatization Day at Namche, Optional visit to Khumjung (3,790 m)- 6 Hours

Overview

Everest Luxury Trek has been designed to trek into Everest region while staying at Comfortable lodges. We explore Everest Region and its mountains, Sherpa culture, beautiful landscapes in a style. We stay at Yeti Mountain Lodges during our trek into this mythical land of Yeti.  Our Trail covers Lukla, Phakding, Namche, Thame and Kongde. Thame is the birth place of Legendary Everest Submitter like Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Appa Sherpa. The other highlight of this trek is Kongde which gives us the best panoramic view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam and other mountains.

Our Comfortable Everest trek starts with city sightseeing in Kathmandu and next day, we fly to Lukla then trek to Phakding. From Phakding, we trek to the bustling town of Namche. On our extra day at Namche, we visit Khumjung village to see Yeti Scalp at Khumjung Monastery, and see Khumjung School and hospital founded by Sir Edmund Hillary. From Namche, we trek to Thame and to Kongde. From Kongde, we descend to Phakding and trek back to Lukla. From Kongde on last day, we might take helicopter to Everest Base Camp (5,360 m) and land at Kalapatthar (5,545 m). From Kalapatthar, we get the best close view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Baruntse and many others.  Then we fly back to Kathmandu on helicopter or continue our trek to Phakding and to Lukla.

This trek is suitable for all level of travelers from children to senior trekkers who have basic fitness level. Our extra caring team members take care of everything from hygienic food to altitude sickness and make this trek one of the best trek of your lifetime. The best season for this trek is Autumn and Spring. 

NOTE ON LUKLA FLIGHT:

Due to the congestion in Kathmandu International Airport, Nepal Government has issued notice of flight operation to Lukla Airport from Ramechhap Manthali Airport until further notice to avoid Airport Traffic in Kathmandu. Lukla Flights from Ramechhap (Both ways) will operate from March to May and September to November every year. In other months, Lukla flights will operate from Kathmandu Airport itself. Please write us for the latest updates. Ramechhap Manthali Airport is 136 kms  from Kathmandu and can be reached in around 4 hours. Alternatively, we can arrange Helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla if you do not want to drive.

Detail Itinerary


Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, we will receive you before Immigration and assist you for visa and Immigration clearance. After collecting baggage, we will drive to hotel. Free afternoon and in the evening, we will brief about the trek and the plan. Then, we take you for Nepali Cultural Dinner to introduce with Nepali food habits and culture.

Activity Duration:

This day, we will take you to see the monuments around Kathmandu. First, we visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square and also pay homage to living Goddess, Kumari. Then we drive to Pashupatinath Temple which is a Hindu Temple for Lord Shiva at the bank of Holy Bagmati River. Then we end our day by visiting Boudhanath Stupa which is the biggest Stupa of Asia and centre for Tibetan Buddhism

Activity Duration:

After breakfast, we fly to Lukla Tenzing Hillary Airport by Private Helicopter and after preparation we trek to Phakding. Lukla is a gateway to Everest Region. This is the first day of our trek which is the easiest flat trail takes you to the beautiful village of Phakding.

Activity Duration:

We follow the level path along the bank of river and climb towards the Dudh Koshi valley. We will pass villages of Benkar, Monjo and Jorsele. There is a beautiful waterfall at Benkar. After a short climb we will have lunch at Jorsele. Soon, we will be at V shaped valley where Dudh Koshi(On left) and Bhote Koshi(On right) meet. After crossing the high suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi, we make a steep ascend to Namche Bazaar. About one hour below Namche, we see Mt. Everest for the first time.

After breakfast, simply you can rest in Namche. Our lodge gives the best view of Namche Bazaar, Kongde peak and Thamserku Mountain. Also we have option of Khumjung Visit. We hike to Everest View Lodge at Syangboche (3,800 m) to have the view of Everest and its neighbors then go to Khumjung Village (3,790m. In Khumjung, we visit monastery and see the Yeti Scalp and also visit School and hospital founded by Sir Edmund Hillary.

After the breakfast, we start our trek through the forest of juniper, pine and spruce and arrive at Thamo for lunch. This is the less touristic trail than of Everest Base Camp Trail. After lunch, we continue our trek and arrive at a deep gorge where Bhote Koshi River thunders through the narrow defile. Then we cross bridge and continue to Thame which gives the view of Thamserk and Kusum Kanguru. Thame is beautiful Sherpa village and home for many Everest Summiteers including Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Appa Sherpa. In the evening, we visit Old Thame Monastery built on 16th Century by Lama Rolwa Dorje.

Activity Duration:

Today, our trail leads us to the highest lodge of Kongde which gives beyond imaginary panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam and Thamserku. We descend down for around 30 minutes and then follow a trail on the south side of Bhote Koshi River through a small Pare Village. Then we ascend gradually to glacier of Kongde peak through beautiful forest of rhododendron, pine and bamboo. As this is the new trail, we are unlikely to meet any trekker on the trail. Although the trail is well built, it crosses some very steep ground and there is one short section where cables are used as hand rails to safeguard progress. We check in to the lodge. Sunset over Mt. Everest is just spectacular from the lodge.

Activity Duration:

It is always a good choice to stay extra day in Kongde as we are being treated good by the Mother Nature. Also there is an option of hike to Farak Ri which takes us around 2 & ½ hours to reach the top. From the viewpoint, we see the panoramic views of entire Khumbu Valley including four of the highest peaks, Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu and Cho Oyu. Then we return to the lodge in the lunch time. We also have bird’s eye view of Namche and Khumjung.

From Kongde, we descend down on quite steep trail. On the way back, we pass many small Sherpa villages situated off the main Everest trail. Then, we join at Everest trail and continue our trek to Phakding.

Today is the short day of trek as we are going back to Lukla. Our trail goes gradual and we climb steep before getting to Lukla. As this is the last day of our trek, you might treat trek team members and walk around the Lukla town.

Early breakfast and fly back to Kathmandu. Whole day is free on your own or rest. In the late afternoon, you may visit the tourist hub of Thamel. In the evening, we will host dinner to mark your success of our trek.
