Overview

Rama and Roshan Trek is One of the most Beautiful Trails in the Far Western Region in Achham District. Rama and Roshan are the two Wetlands at the altitude of 2,500 m just in 30 minutes walk from each other. According to one of the Legends the name Ramaroshan derives from the names of two beautiful Plateaus ‘Rama’ and ‘Roshan’. Another legend tells God Rama who used to come to the peaceful place called Roshan. As per another Legend, Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati spent time in this area right after their wedding.

The Area of Ramaroshan consists of 12 Lakes and 18 breathtakingly Lustrous Green Pastures, locally known as Patans. To the Northern Side, there are unbroken series of Sedimentary Rock faces where the local people harvest Honey from sheer 100 m High Cliffs. During the Ramaroshan trek, we see the view of Budhi Ganga River Basin, Mt. Api and Mt. Saipal and Badi Malika Temple. This Region is equally beautiful for landscapes, traditional villages and wild animals like wild boars, bears and tigers occasionally.

Ramasoshan Trek starts with city flight to Dhangadi and we spend a night and visit Mohana Corridor and Tharu Village. Next day we drive to Safebagar which takes 7/8 Hours through hilly area and at Jugada, we start and end the trek near Safebagar. The best season for Ramaroshan Trek is Autumn and Spring.  After the trek, either we drive to Dhangadi or Surkhet or Nepaljung for flight back to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, we can fly to Nepaljung or Surkhet as well and drive to Safebagar but being Dhangadhi is the biggest city of Far Western Region, it is worth to see the bustling city of far western to see their modern life.
