Overview

Rupina La Pass and Larkya La Pass Trek takes you to the most isolated lower and upper Manaslu Region. Rupina La Pass (4,720 m) which lies in the Lower Manaslu region is not that high but still challenging. This trek takes you to the quiet environment, rich cultural village and still provides you the best views of mountain vistas like Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Buddha Himal, Peak 29, Himal Chuli and Langtang range. After this pass, we join the trail of Manaslu Circuit and cross Larkya La Pass (5,106 m) and trek down to Marshyangdhi valley.

Barpak (1,900 m) is a large Gurung and Ghale Settlement which was the epicenter and greatly devastated by Great Earthquake of 2015. This trek is a nice opportunity to see the people who are in resilience after the Earthquake.

This trek starts with 5 hours drive to historic town Gorkha from where Nepal Unification by King Prithivi Narayan Shah started. Then we trek along the beautiful villages of Baluwa, Barpak, Ruplina La Base Camp and cross the Pass and join the Manaslu Circuit Trek at Ghap. From Ghap, we trek through the Tibetan villages of Sama Gaon and Samdo and cross Larkya La Pass which gives the stunning views of Mt. Manalsu, Ganesh Himal, Buddha Himal, Himal Chuli, Shringi Himal and many more. After crossing the pass, we end our trek at Syange and drive back to Kathmandu via Besisahar.

The best season for this trek is Autumn and Spring. We camp above Barpak and up to Nyak, the camp before Ghap.  After crossing Rupina La Pass, we continue to Larkya La Pass. We have options to join Tsum Valley Trek or directly descend down to Arughat via Philim and Junbesi.
